Thanks for the kind comments.
I suppose it's not a rat bike as such but apart from buying the bike (cheap) and the paint, everything else is off the scrap heap.
I have a friend who has a small motorcycle repair business and has lots of scrap bikes. People bring him bikes to repair that motorcycle dealers will not touch.
We both used to work in the same motorcycle dealers when we were younger. He stayed in the business but I didn't.
I have been messing about with bikes for 33 years and visiting websites like this and ratbikezone in the UK in recent years.
I really like the idea of "make do and mend."
Transforming bikes and making them your own.
Repairing and recycling without spending a lot of money.
I enjoy doing it myself. I cannot weld though.
I have been inspired by folk like you on this site and hope that my project may inspire someone else to have a go at transforming a bike without a lot of money.

By the way, I really like The Netherlands.
My wife, my 2 sons and I have had 2 holidays in The Netherlands. Noordwijk and Valkenburg.
I am coming again next Friday on my Blackbird for the weekend. I am attending a Honda Blackbird rally at Hollandscheveld bj Hoogeveen, t'Groenedak camping.
Got to practise my Dutch. I can speak it better after a few beers

Thank you.magnamaniac schreef:reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaal nice cover
I had a real good time at The Netherlands Blackbird Club meeting last weekend near Hoogeveen. 161 Blackbirds - impressive. Great Dutch hospitality.
I can recommend the campsite http://www.campinggroenedak.nl/index.html
Did a bit of touring and rode the Afsluitdijk. The weather was fantastic apart from the monday afternoon when riding through Friesland and the Afsluitdijk. Horizontal rain and riding the Blackbird at an angle 45 degrees .
I will do it in the summer next time. Hopefully on this bike.
Here for a good time, not for a long time.

More photos
Finally got the bike on the road. I had to fit indicators for it to pass the UK MOT Test. I am changing the rgistration number to a non age related one so you will not be able to tell the age of the bike from the registration number. I might look for some spoked wheels or another project. Gonna ride this through the winter and get it DIRTY

I love seeing other peoples bikes and ideas.
I am so pleased to have found this forum.
I'll take a couple of photos of the bike when I get out and about in the woods and on the back roads.
