Medical Update:
Visited the two broken people in hospital this evening and they are both in good spirits considering the situation they are in. I'll fill you in with some gossip without going into anything that could be considered personal or sensitive.
Ben is by far the worst and still very much dosed up on morphine or something and looks like hes been in an accident. They have not put his arm back together yet due to the nature of the breaks in it. Having been knocked out for ages he only remembers being in his tent and then waking up in the hospital. My description of the drag racing and it getting more and more heated with bikes travelling in opposite directions on the same bit of track was all new news to him. He is under the impression he may be transported medically back home tomorrow by an RAC type insurance thing, but only time will tell exactly when, and as I said he is very much under the morphine fairy so something might be lost in translation. It was a bit amusing when a nurse came in and gave him a stern bollocking in fluent german for not having a shite today. Other than that we exchanged chit chat and mutual experiences of waking up in foreign hospitals until he had to call for more morphine.
Phil is more coherent but still needs work doing on his broken foot, something to do with waiting for the swelling to go down etc. His missus is there at the moment and doing a sterling job of nursing him and looking a bit frazzled from it all. So not much to report other than he'll probably be kept in until they've fixed his foot parts back together again.
His missus (Sorry am shit at names) sends a big hugs and thanks for everyone that helped them throughout the last few days. Especially Ogri MCC members who went out of their way to do so.
FYI: The Brunel building, Ward 26b, Room 34, Southmead Hospital, Bristol.
Best call through before visiting as they might have moved + they are both due more surgery some time soon.
