I suppose it's not a rat bike as such but apart from buying the bike (cheap) and the paint, everything else is off the scrap heap.
I have a friend who has a small motorcycle repair business and has lots of scrap bikes. People bring him bikes to repair that motorcycle dealers will not touch.
We both used to work in the same motorcycle dealers when we were younger. He stayed in the business but I didn't.
I have been messing about with bikes for 33 years and visiting websites like this and ratbikezone in the UK in recent years.
I really like the idea of "make do and mend."
Transforming bikes and making them your own.
Repairing and recycling without spending a lot of money.
I enjoy doing it myself. I cannot weld though.
I have been inspired by folk like you on this site and hope that my project may inspire someone else to have a go at transforming a bike without a lot of money.
